Southern Baptist pastor, editor, and leader of the fundamentalist movement among Southern Baptists in the period 1910 to his death in 1952. He was a graduate of Baylor University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as editor and owner of the Baptist Standard, the Baptist paper of Texas during 1908-1909.
